Not only KSA and USA, Rick ... I would say that all affluent countries have gone down that same path (that is, the road to moral decadence and sloth). Have you ever been in Kuwait? And I won't even mention a certain island offshore the western edge of Eurasia!
Meanwhile, and as I have said before, for some strange (and as yet unexplained) reason, Nick is not the only Saudi correspondent we no longer hear from. I suspect that some kind of weirdness is going on.

I was thinking of calling for volunteers for a rescue mission, then I recalled my own years out in the Desert, where (to be honest) I was quite happy in my own little world, without any real contact with that outside. Another reason then (and indeed perhaps the main one) why I got along so well "out there"!
