Just to correct a few things: It's Dr Einthoven, Eindhoven is a town in the Netherlands. As Robert said way back, KISS (keep it simple, stupid)!!! Why try and make life so difficult, is it to show that you know more that is necessary to answer the question?
To convert BPM to Hertz, use a stopwatch and a counter then divide your answer by 60!!
