PHYSIOTHERAPY EQUIPMENT
Objectives:-
03.1.01 To give an overview of physiotherapy apparatus; IR, UV, heat, exercise.
03.1.02 To describe the function and principle of operation of ultrasonic therapy.
03.1.03 To describe the function and principle of operation of shortwave therapy; block diagram.
03.1.04 To describe the function and principle of operation of microwave therapy; block diagram.
03.1.05 To demonstrate and practise practical skills involved with the maintenance of physiotherapy equipment.
MODULE 03.2
GENERAL NURSING EQUIPMENT
Objectives:-
03.2.01 To give an overview of mechanical nursing equipment (weighing scales, patient transports).
03.2.02 To give an overview of electric beds.
03.2.03 To give an overview of miscellaneous and minor medical equipment (auriscopes, endoscopes etc.).
03.2.04 To describe the function and principles of operation of syringe pumps and volumetric infusion pumps.
03.2.05 To discuss the function and principles of operation of non-invasive blood pressure measurement.
03.2.06 To discuss the function and principles of operation of pulse oximeters.
03.2.07 To demonstrate and practise practical skills involved with the maintenance of general nursing and miscellaneous equipment.
MODULE 03.3
INFANT CARE EQUIPMENT
Objectives:-
03.3.01 To describe the function and principle of operation of a typical infant incubator; functional diagram.
03.3.02 To describe the function of phototherapy and radiant heating equipment; apnoea and enuresis alarms.
03.3.03 To give an overview of infant monitoring equipment. Include oxygen monitors and billirubin meters.
03.3.04 To give an overview of infant resuscitation and ventilation apparatus.
03.3.05 To demonstrate and practise practical skills involved with the maintenance of infant care equipment.
