There will be an IEC "Particular Requirements" Standard covering this (and no doubt someone will let us know the reference) which may talk about speed and diameter
etc., but in my opinion, any modern (new) centrifuge should have a true "zero RPM" lid-locking system. That is, the interlock should keep the lid locked at all times during rotation (even during power failure) and require that the rotor be at rest before the lid can be unlocked.
Is this thing from a well-known manufacturer ... or some "back-door" *import?
