et al ... what you need is the "word on the street".
This
site is usually good for a laugh (but be warned, some of it may not be for the faint hearted).
But having reviewed what has been said about the places I have visited - stayed at - or actually lived in, I have found little to disagree with.
Meanwhile,
here is a current link for the South Mimms roundabout mentioned eight years ago. Nothing has changed there since then, of course.

this one? I spent a few happy years there myself (long time ago now). One of those pics mentions the guardroom; that was where I pulled the last Guard Commander duty I ever did! I remember it was a Boxing Day! The back gate to the Mess (near where I used to park my Saab) is looking a little sad, though.
