Don't be taken in by the IMDB scores, I foolishly watched Mel Gibson's 'The Patriot' recently - absolutely dreadful! (I'd seen Apocalypto and thought it was quite good.)
I'm sure it won't be the case with The Shining, though.
You are right Huw.. I have fell for the IMdb rating trap before! I try to be a little more selective now though by cross referencing a few reviews before taking the plunge.. The shining wasn't what I was expecting at all but I was pleasantly surprised! Didn't see that end twist coming at all! 8/10
