John, Not sure how you would get this info but GMTV ran the story this morning. They had a map showing the locations as dots across the country. Looked lkie most where in the London areas.

Thanks GeeBee

Looks like there will be closures. I'm not sure that 'super-centre hospitals' are such a good idea. One superbug and even more people affected. I was at Ely Hospital when that closed. I reckon people died because they had to take them to Addenbrookes adding another 20 minutes to the ambulance journey. I suppose it will mean expanding the ambulance service and putting more pressure on paramedics/GPs. frown

The Daily Telegraph published an article on the 19th August which lists the areas and hospitals under review (NW London, Lancs, Cornwall, Surrey/Sussex).
HMG tried to bury on the day they announced further spending on PFI hospitals.

My local trust has been in serious financial trouble for some time now. Apparently there have been lots of redundancies as departments are being forced to drastically cut stff levels.
Maybe it's one of the ones under review...

I dont mean to throw the cat amongst the pidgeons but these is a trust round here that has started the process.
So far to senior techs have been made redundant, both have years service and arent anywhere near retirement age. So it wasnt done on age, or last in.

KM, I think we are referring to the same trust. I heard senior staff in other departments have been the first to go.
It's not looking good.

Does that mean that all those who have been fighting for higher AfC grades will now not want them? laugh

My spelling is not bad. I am typing this on a Medigenic keyboard and I blame that for all my typos.
