If anyone has any Puritan Bennett 7200 ventilator up for disposal/sale and in good working order please let us know.

I have several but they are here in Sydney.

We have a couple but can't promise anything yet as would have to be done via supplies and possibly auction. Hopefully will try and sort something out after mad March!

Is there anybody else can help us in finding one, as we need it quit urgent.
Also we are looking for 6 Imed PC-1 infusion pumps in good physical and operational order.

Can you clarify what you want these units for, your profile suggests you work for Robin Medical and a quick search suggests you are company specialising in the buying and selling of used medical equipment.

Can you outline how you meet the requirements of DB9801 sup 2? and why is sourcing this vent now urgent?

Sorry for the questions I get suspcious when companies come knocking asking for unwanted equipment, would much prefer to donate to charities as opposed to a profit making company.

My guess is, the PB 7200 vent is probably needed to ventilate a patient, its fairly certain the PC-1 pumps are needed for a clinical application too, I imagine youre suspicious instinct has served you well and some financial considerations are at work in this case, is this wrong?, if so, Why ?, as long as all legal and mandatory requirements are met, why cant equipment be sold to Robin Medical ?, do any charities meet the requirements of DB9801 sup 2 ?, can a Clinical Engineer determine disposal / sale / donation policy based on preference ?

Darren, I know what a vent and a pump does, but that won't be the exact usage Robin Medical would be putting it through would it! They are obviously sourcing it for a customer, I'm not against such enterprise as long as they are honest and set out their stall from the beginning.

At least your footer indicates you belong to a commercial company. What does Surrey tell you? I only know RML is Robin Medical from reading the user profile and what they do from an internet search. Decisions are better made when all relevent information is known. i.e. do I give equipment to a company who would make a profit or to a charity who would put it to use to those that would benefit.

The first post asks for a vent which is for DISPOSAL/sale which kind of tells me that they are possibly after a freebie if possible.

You ask can a Clinical Engineer determine disposal/sale/donation based on preference. The answer is yes, they are Trust assets and as a Clinical Engineer I would advise the Trust on the most appropriate destination for equipment coming out of service. Finally the charity/auction house we deal with are aware of DB9801 sup 2 and oblige with any requirements we ask them to accept, they always have the right to say no!

I see where your coming from now Bioman, just pulling your leg a bit, Ive been in your position before, it would help you know RML if you were up front about things, as we all proceed in ultimately the persuit of quality patient care services and support, we have to take into account vocational and commercial obligations and considerations alike, without a transparent and honest approach you may struggle with requests for help.

Thanks for responding, not all commercial companies are as professional as MPI. I'm sure I visited the MPI stand one year at NATN in Harrogate one year and was impressed with what I saw, Keep up the good work.

Huw, maybe commercial members of forum should be encouraged to name their employers in the footer to avoid any further confusion/complications?
