Hi
I would be grateful for any information relating to call logging systems that may be in use in EBME/MPCE Depts. Does anywhere use a system that allows users of medical devices to log service requests for faulty equipment. If so is this a web based system, is it commercially available or has it been developed in-house.

Regards,

Roger.

Hi Roger

We are currently using WebHECS for call logging in conjunction with our HECS equipment database. Contact for ECRI Europe below…

We also use a white board and pens. We found it to be cost effective in these days of lack of investment in the NHS. It has two colums, urgent and will do when there is no urgent jobs to do.

Very effective as we put a little tick to say it is being attended to.

At the moment its only the west cumbrians who are using Backtraq. But talking to th company last week a specific EBME module is being released in the next 2 weeks. Developed inconjuction with some techs from a Edinburgh trust. Hopefully it will give us the facilities we need, that we are lacking or not used in the Estates based version of Backtraq,

We have increased our ability to allow for more jobs and info on our whiteboard setup. We have got a bigger whiteboard.

Those out there may scoff at the setup but it works and jobs are done on an urgency basis and not what a computer kicks out as the next job. It is also more environmently friendly.
