Has anyone out there found a way of securing a Propaq monitor to a Ferno critical care transport cot so that it complies with CEN regs. We has tried WA and the lot across the pond but nobody seems to have come up with a method of securing a Propaq to anything. A local engineering firm can probably make us a frame of some sort but I just wondered if anyone had beaten us to it.

We are shortly to be faced with the same problem. Ferno seemed to think that WA did have a plate, but our rep was not sure. However he suggested looking at the GCX website. There they have a bolt down mount which takes the slide mount fitting which is fitted to most makes of rollstand that are in use today. Whether this would fully comply with CEN regs I am not sure, but a look at the GCX website may reveal something that could be modified. The type is called the counter top mount. www.gcx.com

We have been on to their web site and emailed them a few times and received a few pretty pictures from them of the counter top mount. The problem then becomes one of fitting the Propaq on to the slide (difficult)and of fitting the mount on to the Ferno cot (not quite so difficult)

I believe that GCX do a plate that screws to the base of the Propaq that is compatible with their slide mount. The other option that WA had was a pole clamp adapter, but I understand that the location of poles on the Terumo trollies was left to individual users.

GCX haven't mentioned a plate or shown one in any of the diagrams that they have sent us. I shall get in touch with them again and check it out. I also believe that they do a pole clamp which might work. I will let you know if I get anywhere with it

The base plate provided on our Ferno trolley for mounting a monitor has slots each side. We use these to strap the Propaq down using webbing straps. It's very secure - you could turn the trolley upside down and it wouldn't come off ! - but I doubt it complies with the CEN regs. Far too simple !
Today is the day you worried about yesterday - and all is well !
