The Centre opened in April 2004 and is the regional centre for advanced simulation training in Trent as well as hosting a range of regional and nationally acclaimed life support, medical and surgical skills courses.
An opportunity has arisen for a talented individual to join the team working alongside our existing Senior Technician and Technician to lead the technical aspects of planning, organising and operating the facility.

Your remit will include the day-to-day preparation, co-ordination and delivery of the technical elements of all courses including medical equipment.
A key element of the post is supporting course leaders and trainers in the technical development and delivery of courses and building strong relationships with a range of trainers and users. You will also arrange drop in sessions for healthcare staff, play a role in the provision of training and support self-directed learning.
You will also provide support for the Technician who is primarily based in the clinical skills area and who delivers technical support to a wide range of skills based courses including resuscitation and Basic and Advanced Surgical Skills courses.
The successful candidate will have a background either in engineering or a medical environment with strong technical skills and the ability to apply them to new areas and applications.
A good communicator with the ability to prioritise workloads to meet deadlines, you will be able to work on your own initiative as well as part of a team. With a proven track record in a medical/technical setting and excellent IT skills, previous experience in the healthcare environment or audio-visual field and knowledge of medical simulation will be an advantage. A flexible approach will be required as some courses will operate in evenings and at weekends.
