I have heard a rumour that all Medical Engineers
will have to be registered i.e like Pharmacists and a degree course in Medical Engineering will be available for this reason.
Anybody have any information about this and will it help with A.F.C. around the Knowledge and Skills factor? i.e. your manager can state with truth that five years hence people coming into a Medical Engineering post will need at least a degree in Medical Engineering.

Not a rumour, the HPC is in consultation with various groups re state registration of Clinical Technologists. There have been many threads on this topic in the past, type registration in the search function and you should get all the previous threads.

Are you currently on the Voluntary Register of Clinical Technologists (VRCT). Jim Methven, one of the key people involved with VRCT has been an occasional poster on this forum on this very matter. I understand there are still issues around getting agreement what the minimum qualifications should be.
