It's been sometime since the last poll, I take it everybody should have been banded by now but I thought it might be interesting to see how the final grades after all appeals have been completed.

Chris you would be wrong in your assumption that everybody has been graded by now. Latest news here is that our jobs have been matched but won't be consistency checked until mid January
Assimilated at last...

Hi Karl and Bill
Yes I've just realised that I should have added a none option. Also I now see that unless you vote you can't see a result. At least if you haven't been matched yet you should have someone to consistency check against. It's starting to look like some posts here were not consistency checked since there was no one to check against!
Although it would be interesting so see how many of those banded earlier have been regraded on appeal. Is there a way of creating a poll that can be viewed by everyone or one that you can change your vote from banding not complete to a band?

Ive seen the results of a recent bench marking exercise in the north. It included places such Liverpool, Manchester, Notts, York and the vast majority of the posts seem to have all come out the same on A4C grades. Although I cant vouch for what responsibilities and duties each trust has and whether the posts where just assimulated, JAQ,D or reviewed to grade.

It would also be interesting to see what level of band 8 mto4*'s and 5's are reaching and the abillity to give mutiple votes at some grades would be nice so that department results can be added, but I don't think a bb poll can do that.

I'm particularly interested to see what bands have been used for the manager posts. I don't mean the Workshop Manager - I mean the people who have phrases like "provides the Trust's lead on matters involving medical equipment" or "acts as lead manager in areas such as medical equipment maintenance".
From the information I have been able to get, the majority of such posts have been banded 8a, 8b or 8c and the workshop "manager" or "supervisor" has been given a Band 7. I know it's complicated trying to compare like with like between different hospitals and regions.
I assume the managers who are responsible for medical equipment management within a larger Medical Physics department will have been banded lower than those that manage a "stand alone" department - perhaps within Estates or Facilities - so have no effective technical supervision of their role.
This poll was useful for checking how the MTO2s etc came out, but now that the majority of managers should have been "done" (in every meaning of the word! ) it would be nice to see how things have turned out "at the top".
If there's an answer to this question somewhere else in another thread, please excuse me - and I'd be grateful if someone could direct me to it.

No one in our department has been banded yet. We're told it may be March 2007 before we hear anything. I am rather looking forward to getting all that interest on the back pay though. mmm......:-\
