Why do I get that re-inventing the wheel feel again, it's only just gone after writing those dreaded job descriptions pending A4C!

Now it seems we're all being asked to write KSF templates for our staff - joy!

Come on then, who's done it? What about you guy's at the early implementer sites? Surely with so called 'National Profiles' we're all being matched to, will enable a Nationally agreed KSF template to be/have been produced.

What happened to all that work on 'National Occupational Standards' and now 'skills for health' shouldn't all this somehow link together???

It will all link together, eventually.

Skills for Health are the Sector Skills body responsible and the HCS NOS will come under them. They are the body producing all of the competencies. Visit their web site at www.skillsforhealth.org.uk

There is also work underway to map the NOS, KSF, educational requirements and proposed new career pathway, across to each other.

As for timescale, that's anybody's guess.

Thanks techman, I have indeed already browsed the skills for health website and also the hcs nos website; both seem to be very slow in producing the goods though!

Hopefully in due course this will lead to a KSF template appearing on the e-KSF website - oh forever the optimist!

Well, the pressure's on here in Preston. KSF outlines need to be complete in 3 weeks.

Has anybody done any yet? There do not appear to be any Medical Engineer/EBME/etc., approved outlines on the national website yet. Does anyone else have deadlines looming? boggle

Have a look at The Healthcare Scientists Career Framework document. This has KSF info relative to us. Follow the URL in the Agena for Change,Career Framework thread in this forum.

Since starting this Forum I've finally produced draft KSF outlines with a lot of help from:

http://www.skillsforhealth.org.uk/view_framework.php?id=73

The KSF tool is also very useful!
