Hi Shiju
As long as you go for same type/spec capacitor no problems should arise.

Shiju, I might be able to lay my hands on some junk 8000 IC incubators. Whereabouts on the machines should I be looking for these famous capacitors? smile

Hi Shiju,
Please check with Drager. How old these machines are? is it obsolete ? is there any manufacturers name printed on this capacitor?.Do you have ckt diagrams? sometimes equivalent may not work. understand the actual work does by this capacitor in the unit and then decide! Hope some one ( Like Geoff )with experience in this machine may help you!
Best of Luck

The 68 uF capacitor is a bipolar capacitor & not a standard electrolytic capacitor. The best resolution is to replace the aggregate PCB. At the moment the capacitor is not available as a single item.
There is a manufacturer in Germany, however the catch is they would like you to buy 500 at about £6.00 a pop!

Hello Mr Doolan,
we are prepared to replace the aggregate PCB , but only as a last option, because the Board, as you know is much expensive.
we have 3 no incubators at present with the same complaint.

This deterioration of the capacitor may also affect the remaining 7 incubators now in working condition in the near future.
so we are trying to find out a source for the same.

Thank you sir,
shiju
