My spelling is not bad. I am typing this on a Medigenic keyboard and I blame that for all my typos.

I get 1010111011111000

As Robert says, you just convert each Hex digit into a 4 bit binary number.

I reckon you convert hex to decimal and then to binary. This gives me the answer 10110100110000.

OOPS! I made a right cods of that didn't I? You can do it the way I suggested, ie via decimal, but it is a bit tedious and therefore prone to errors, as shown.
As an EBME tech in his 65th year I hang my head in shame.
