.....What pens do you use for writting on such things as the RS "Tested", "calibrated" etc labels, we have used for some years now the "Edding 8404 Aerospace Marker" and for the past few months they have been crap! the aerospace industry must be in quite a bad way, having to guess where the lines were!.
They worked ok new and stop within a couple of days, please save me some money and tell me which ones work?

The SANFORD Sharpie twin tip is a personal favourite of mine. RS Book 4 Page 142.

Nothing beats a sharpie. Fine point or ultra fine point. We also cover everything with clear stickers to keep things crisp.

The Steadler OHP Pen (I use Fine) cost about £1 from "Hobbycraft" Shop.

I tried WHSmith and they all smudged like biros.

The only problem with these pens is the ink "Spreads" over time (9 months or more) like blotting paper with a founntain pen, but it is still readable.

We use laminated all in one, serviced,next test due,labels(distinctive orange colour). Supplied by Circuitape. No need for a fancy quill.

Likewise, as we use laminated labels from Circuitape, I use any pen (biro) lying around (not fibre tip though).

I use a normal biro, for writing with, poking out stuff (o rings etc) and it always works a treat.

I use a Parker 25 fountain pen (brushed steel finish), one of a brace I own, the first purchased in 1978 and the other approximately 4 years later. Only Quinck black ink cartridges, of course, to ensure that I don't invalidate the warranty.

The Pentel pen (permanent marker) - Green label NMF50, super fine point will write on anything. Available from numerous suppliers.
