I voted for “Medical Engineering” ... but would have chosen “Biomedical Engineering”, had it been on the menu, on the grounds that you can then introduce yourself (ie, to users) as the “biomed”. To say “I’m the Medical Engineer” just doesn’t sound as good to my worn-out ears (especially when, alongside many others I suspect, some smart-arse could – rightly – challenge me on the issue of “engineer”)! No, stick to
biomed. It’s suitably vague, brief, and conveys more the less the right idea.
