Hi Laiq

Error code E20 on the 850 means that the heater wire circuit is not functioning. It will probably be the thermal cutout. You will need to open the case and push the red reset button below the heater plate. It should click if this is the problem. It could also be a fuse (F2) on the board has blown or maybe a triac has failed, but usually it is the thermal cutout. It just means the operator stopped gas flow but left the unit on.

Hi Laiq
Have to agree with Mark there.
Have just repaired an Error 20 and it was F2 on the power PCB.

The 6-pin DIL triac driver opto-coupler IC, that switches the heater-wire triac, fails very occasionally on the MR850. Usually it's a fuse problem.

E20 or E21 error on Mr850 is more than just a fuse problem.
There is a +/- 11.3V regulator circuit components that ususally fails.

If you look at one of the capacitors 47uF/50V, is a bit discolored compared to the one beside it. Those 2 capacitors are the filters for the rectified voltage input to the regulator circuit (series pass transistor regulator configuration). What
fails is the SM transistor and zener diode.

I hope this might help you in the future
