Does anyone (who has current or recent experience) have any comments, good or bad, regarding TBS service on flexible endoscopes?

Hi BillB

I visited TBS a few weeks ago to inspect their service facility and ask them a lot of questions. It was a very informative and interesting day.

I was extremely impressed with the set-up and with the workmanship carried out by many with lots of experience in the field.

The documentation, specialised tooling and test procedures were 'bang on'.

Superb business to say the least, you should go yourself!

Thanks for that Jim - do you use them?

Hi BillB

I have not personally, but our Trust to my knowledge have had a rigid scope serviced by them about a year ago. Our department does not lend a service for rigid/flexible endoscopes, so no involvement here.

Obviously what they plug into 'stack systems', etc we do.
I was asked about suitability of maintenance of endoscopes cheaper at least than Keymed and TBS came up. My suggestion was that I carry out a visit to see if they were up to scratch and they were.

As I say, you should go yourself, carry out a risk assessment based upon your findings and make any decisions you see to be appropriate.

Good luck

Jim
