Can anyone remember the process of running the battrey conditionig cycle in the service menu, for these monitors.

Hi,
We do have a service manual. Which simply states run the conditioning cycle from the service menu. I am still waiting for GE to get back to me.

I have fitted a new battery and in order to get the monitor to see the new battrey at it's full capacity, the conditioning cycle has to be ran.

Although the battrey indicator in the bottom left hand corner shows the battrey to be full charged after running the conditioning. There is still a message displaying 'Discharged'.

Any advice appreciated.

Hi Dom,
From the service manual, 2000 412-001 Rev D, pg 4-7,
Monitor Setup-> Service Mode-> Battery Sevice-> Start Condition.
Might be worth a try.

Just read a bit more.........
You can also try and run the equipment on battery until it switches off. Then apply mains and the option for conditioning is given. (Can take a while for the batteries to discharge).

Yea thats exactly what our manual states. Pretty Useless really. GE still havent got back to me since yesterday!

Geoff, these aren't intelligent/smart battries, quite the opposite,

When a new battrey is fitted the conditioning cycle needs to be ran in order for the monitor to recognise the capacity of the battrey.

GE couldnt shed much light on the situation!!

Yes, so the monitor is out of service for even longer! Where's the sense in that? Let's start making a plea for a return to good old dumb batteries!

I, JackFlash, make a plea for cheap, ecological dumb batteries!

We have Dash 3000/ 4000's, to store the new battery capacity we flatten the battery first as Read mentions above. Not conducive to fast turnaround is it?
