if the bed goes up & when you press down you can hear the right noise but the bed won't lower could that me the hydraulics?

the beds in question are Hill Rom Totalcare - Dynamic.

Some hydraulic beds have a microswitch arrangment that stops them being lowered onto objects that might have been inadvertantly placed underneath. Sounds like something like that.
