Nest meeting of this sort in York on the 23rd of July, Not too late to register. Registration details from the link on the front page of this site.

Will someone please tell (remind) us what these meetings are about, who organises them (who stands to gain), what sort of thing gets discussed (and who decides who gets the accolades)? What is the aim, and what gets achieved? Who pays for it all, and where the "freebies" come from?

Nothing sinister in my question(s), but I just like to know these things (doesn't everyone?). Furthermore, I'm thinking of devising my own award ... one that would be truly sought after!

IPEM are organising the next seminar in York paid for by Draeger.
Who gains: everyone - the delegates learn - the exibitors meet new customers.

Not if it's for team work!

These meetings are about meeting other people working in a similar line, listening to talks from people with a wealth of experience (John's one of the speakers at the IPEM study day), explanations of physiological use and effect that we as engineers may not be familiar with; and for those of us in the NHS it gives some evidence of CPD that even the management can understand.

The sponsors take all the normal benefits that any sponsor gains from an event ie exposure, contacts and leads.

The award ... yes, teamwork might be a factor, although it may fall quite a way down the list, I expect.

Just read the programme for the IPEM meeting better not bring along Phil saunders and his double entanders, phnar phnar.

As for the battery bit are they not a little behind times with the use of zinc batteries.
