Does anyone have a job description which covers EBME support in GP surgeries they would be willing to give me a copy of. If you could send me a copy by private message it would be much appreciated. Also, if anyone is doing EBME work in GPS I am interested to know what grade on the AFC scale you were placed.

If you look in the Downloads section, you will find a JD that was scored at Band 5.

We do contract work in GP's which is covered by Service Level Agreements(SLA)with the Primary Care Trust.
We don't service autoclaves.

If you look a this site http://www.nhsemployers.org/pay-conditions/pay-conditions-1990.cfm
and look at the profiles under Medical Technology, you should be able to score yourself.

Cheers

On the other hand some trusts have been using the Healthcare Science Generic profiles further down instead.

Thanks for the information. Can you tell me if there is any advantage in using one profile over the other.

Looking at the two profiles I can't see much difference between the two. The only difference I can see is that the generic profiles assumes that an entry post exists where you can come straight from school with little qualifications, where as the medical technician profiles more actually portray what's currently advertised where the entry requirement is HND/degree.

IMHO I believe this lower entry position and the fact that the generic profiles don't describe our positions well probably confuses most matching panels.
