Has anyone any comments or opinions on the Blease 8500 ventilator? Any user/technical problems encountered? or are we the only ones?

Hi Chimps
We have suffered several different problems with the Blease 8500 ventilators.
Anaesthetists complain about the minute volume(display) not correlating with what they are delivering.
We also have random"power down"issues.

We've some of these. So many problems we now have a permanent loan unit on site. Also lots of problems over delivery of service kits for anaesthetc machines. No kits, wrong kits, incomplete kits......

Hi Graham
We also have loan vents on site and even they keep falling over.

At the moment we have also have a whole machine whilst one of ours is away for repair under warranty - and that broke down last weeek. Though to be fair we still think the anaesthetic machines are OK and our local engineer does what he can to help us. It's just service support from 'head office' in general which is somewhat less than ideal. It remains to be seen if the Spacelabs takeover will improve matters.

We have had similar experiences to those already mentioned .
However having took these issues up with our local rep (resulting in an on site meeting with the MD here) things are begining to improve.
Not so much around reliability of existing kit (yet to resolve completely) but more in the way of recompense for encountered issues to date.
Hopefully the future plans (ala Spacelabs)will bring more good news.
Trust this info. may help others in a similar position.
Steve.
