Hello, I have an interview for an EBME post, coming from a non medical back ground I wanted to research potiential medical devices that would be repaired a part of the post. Can someone please point me in the right direction. Thank you

If you're not coming from a medical background your future employer will already know this from your CV, but you can always impress with some knowledge of electrical safety testing.

Plenty of articles on that as well

They are obviously interested in you and your technical background is enough to get you an interview. The advice on Safety testing is good. The reason for doing it are mainly what they want to hear.

I would also look at the slightly bigger picture. The reason for having an EBME dept. Where they fit into the day to day running of the hospital. Elaborate on the role of a tech, etc etc.

I would suggest that you ask for an informal visit prior to the interview,this will allow you to get an oversight of the department and the service it delivers within the hospital.It will also help prime you with the questions you need to ask at the interview and what to expect.

I think that this is very good advice Newbie. Even better still would be to ask to spend a few days with the EBME prior to the interview. Candidates have done this here before and I know it has impressed the interview panel.
