Hi All
We are currently looking at potentially introducing RFID Tagging for some medical equipment. Has anyone introduced this in their hospital, if so what equipment did you decide to use this on, what specifications did you require for the system?

As I posted earlier why not "bar-code" the equipment, infact all assets within the hospital, including static plant equipment should be bar coded, bar code the room, area floor and inventories and asset management becomes much easier and you can design your own data sheet as to the requirements of your particular establishment.

RFID and barcoding ... two different things.

Does anyone have a specification of what they required the tags to do and what type of equipment you tagged?

RFID tagging acts as a locator for ALL equipment, including beds, wheelchairs, drip stands; even patients and staff if you so wish.
If you use passive RFID tags, then you will be able to tell when a tagged piece of equipment has passed the sensor. If it is active tagging, you will be able to locate the item to within approx. 2 metres.
