Not really a new topic.
I suppose that it is all a bit of joviality a wind up,and I am biting,but it seems to bear no relation to reality.
So what is this member rated stuff?
I am not a novice
I've been here over 14 years and I started in this field in 1978.
Does anyone else find this labelling unnecessary?

I am inclined to agree John - Saw it explained/justified somewhere, but likewise fail to see any benefit to the biomed community. For the non-initiated it does seem to have the (I am sure unintended) effect of trivialising submissions/comments made.
At the end of the day though, it is a superfluous element in what is a very good discussion/exchange of information forum, and I take it for what is - a bit of fun on the part of those running the site, and an attempt to inject a bit more 'colour'
