I had to MacGyver the microwave yesterday. If was the so-called "high-voltage" fuse. But I won't tell you how I fixed it, less anyone else might be tempted to "try this at home", as it were. Did you replace the fuse with a nail per chance? Or something more MacGyver-ish?
I love deadlines, I like the wooshing sound they make as they fly by.

Good try ... but it's shows how little you know about microwave ovens, I'm afraid.  Clue:- ""high-voltage" doesn't mean "high-current"!

Have you got a clock in your toaster, and did you use the toast to fix the fuse?

Actually, all that is a bit old hat now.  But (like my microwave), you're getting warm now regarding the er, repair. Actually I used the toast to recreate the capacitor which had caused the fuse to blow, next I ... Take a look!

You can call it Geoff’s Little Interactive Box (or GLIB, for short). All I want is 5% of the profits! Anyone got a prototype ready to rock the world with yet? With acknowledgement to Matt's original post ... it's that time of year again. Any progress on this issue ... or has everyone simply resigned themselves to changing hundreds of clocks twice each year?
