Dear All.
First Happy new year to u all.
Now back to subject. I have a BIOCHEM OXIMETER 3100 which is showing error message on its graphics LCD "SEARCH TOO LONG"..
When i insert finger into adult finger sensor, pleth graph start to come on display also pulse strength bar graph appears ok, also heart beat sound comes but no SpO2 nor Heartrate LED display comes.
After 2 to 3 sec of working this message comes "SEARCH TOO LONG"..
Finger sensor LEDs are working fine using new sensor. Tried inserting 6.2Kohms & 8.2Kohms at pin 1 & 6 of DB9 of Spo2 module. Also shorted these two pins same result.
Can any one guide me what may be causing this..
Thanks in advance & regards.
Waiting for quick reply, as i am working on this unit now.
With regards
Laiq

Dear Neal Shaw
Thanks for your reply.
I have tried all the setting available for averaging periods with no luck..
Any more specific idea... I am trying for service manual, if i get my hand on it, there might be some clue to this problem.
Thanks a lot for your reply. Looking for solution to my problem..

The manufacturers, BIOCHEM INTERNATIONAL became BCI International and are now Smiths Medical PM Inc of Waukesha Wisconsin. Try contacting them direct via http://www.smiths-bci.com/HTML/support.htm for a service manual for the 3100 oximeter
