Ive always considered a HND and HNC practically, if you have the D you can calculate how to get the lid off and if you have the C you know what to do with the contents.

WELL - I'm an apprentice, doing an ONC and a HNC (HNC currently =]) and I hope for your sake the pay is different to mine as I am trainee, they started me on 65% of the top end of a band 4, 13 grand, going up about a thousand more year by year until my band 5, I think they will start you on a band 5 as you have a good degree as is.
