Hi,

Re the above equipment.

Could you ask your colleagues who work with anaesthetics equipment if they have had any problems with these units.

In particular the small seals found between the water trap and the main unit. We have had some of these seals "falling off" causing "room" air to enter the analyser and hence give incorrect CO2 reading.

Regards

Patrick

A wee update to this. We are still having problems with the seals coming off when staff empty the water traps. Our friends at Philips have advised us to tell theatre staff not the throw away the seals when they are emptying the water trap......
I of course have stayed alive by rephrasing this.
Any body had or having this problem?

Hi

We have had the exact problem with our M1019A - IntelliVue G5 Anesthetic Gas Modules, I had to educate staff on identifying the Manifold seals being stuck on top of the water trap when they change it, It took around 6 months to get them in the routine. Its been 2 yrs now and no more manifold seals have gone missing.

Hi

Seems Philips are well aware of the problem as they issued a Field Safety Note FSN86201138 on 14th July this year. We only received ours a week or so ago!

Action?? Philips are going to provide more instructions! tut

Users will, of course, take notice of these guides. rolleyes
