Hello All,
Does anyone else perform Entrapment risk assessments on there Bed and Mattress combinations, and what have you found?
We purchased a Bed Measurement Device linked below:
This complies to the new bed safety standards set in 2009, to which all equipment should comply. Our findings generally are:
A Manufacturers own Bed and mattress combination have no/minimal risk, where as a manufacturers bed with another manufacturers mattress has a higher potential entrapment risk.
With this potential risk occuring, we now insist that if a bed is rented or on Trial that the manufacturer supply a mattress. If they cannot, then we test the combination with our own and if a risk is to be found we turn it away.
Do other eme departments do this, if so what have they found to be a good/bad combination?
