You may wish to look at the fix cost repairs on offer from the company. We have found on some repairs it is more cost effective to have the company repair the device due to parts were greater than the fix cost repair.

Otherwise, you could have a fault with the device. The manual does provide a clear step by step instructions.

Hello Mofe,
I agree with Dazza that if it is too difficult to repair you could end up wasting time and money. Better to send it back to Alaris.

Mofe, there have been some difficulties in calibrating the device, particularly with faults described as "Linear Error", a firmware update from Alaris has fixed this.

Also there have been issues with a metal plate becomming invisibly warped or damaged from slight abuse, this would also cause calibration errors.

Both faults can be remedied, the motor plate is (from memory) around £40 compared to a fixed price repair.

I would reccomend the updated firmware first though!

Joe,

From your post, I think that you may be referring to the Asena SYRINGE DRIVER. Mofe is referring to the Asena GW Volumetric Pump.

Mofe,

Do you have an up-to-date service manual as they are usually very good and contain a Performance Verification Procedure sheet to guide you through the check-out procedure.

The service manual is available on-line:

Thank you Alaris. smile
Other manufacturers please take note. It is simple things like this that are taken in to account when purchase decissions are made. wink

Access to the manuals and PVP procedures is password protected (as it should be), so you would need to obtain a username and password from Cardinal Healthcare.

I went to the Alaris web site followed links from the products section to the technical section and got to the manual then copied the address to my posting.
I agree that the direct link seems to need a password but going through the web site did not.
Unless someone from Alaris is watching this link and has closed a loophole since my last posting.

I have just gone back through the History on my internet explorer, the password protection was not there before but is now. I did not scroll down the whole document but I distinctly remember seeing the front page of the manual when I first went there otherwise I would not have put the link in my previous posting.

Come clean Alaris (Cardinal) or my paranoia will only get worse.

Robert
