There is a QED-6 currently listed on eBay. Just search on "Bio-Tek". No doubt the seller would be happy to send it to an address in Manchester. I'll leave it to you to decide if the price being asked is "reasonable". smile

So. I contacted the seller yesterday, but the analyser was already sold. This way so my request for offers remains apt.

The Bio-Tek QED-6 I have in mind is still listed on eBay at the moment.

The "Buy It Now" price is £ 500, but you can also make an offer. So far, it looks like one offer has been placed.

But don't worry. No doubt others shall be listing their wares right here soon enough. smile

I have often wondered where all this medical and test equipment on eBay and the like comes from. Especially that for sale in the UK.
How many individuals have test or medical equipment that is theirs to sell or has it fallen off the back of a passing EBME department? Stock that the hospital/department has finished with and is "thrown away"?
I am not accusing anyone here of this, I am just curious as to the source of eBay equipment in the UK.

I know this come as somewhat of a surprise to some ... but there is a "private sector" out there, you know! And I have yet to hear of any of the test equipment vendors refusing to accept money. whistle

Well, I do for starters. And, as far as I know, none of it has "fallen off the back of lorry", EBME or any other. I might add that I don't recall seeing any used test equipment with serial numbers conveniently missing (so stuff can be traced ... especially by the calibration shops).

Here's another surprise (how many can you handle in one go?):- there are also such things as auctions. Ex-NHS, ex-military, etc., etc. You buy your test kit, repair it if need be, get it calibrated ... and Hey Presto (Robert's your father's brother). smile

Lastly, I have come across many (and I mean many) items of medical equipment (including test equipment) being sold at auction where the hospital obviously couldn't be arsed to remove their asset labels. The only conclusion I can draw there is that they cannot be too worried about any potential "come-backs"!

Once I even alerted my Old Mates in one NHS biomed shop about a particular item that I came across being loaded into a container on its way out to [censored]. Guess what? According to their "database" the kit concerned was still sitting in Outpatients (yes, so much for their PM programme, then). frown
