"Praise" is cheap (and shallow) ... it's what you use when house-training a puppy!
In the States they have "National Biomed Week", "Biomed Awareness Day" (or some such thing). Here in the UK that would (quite rightly in my view) probably be regarded as a bit patronizing (or, indeed,
naff)!
Happily, we English (or at least those of us of my own generation) are usually made of sterner stuff, and are generally used to cracking on without being "jollied along" the whole time!
