EBME Forums Forums Maintenance Technical Assistance Manaement of Decontamination/Sterile Services

Colleagues

Just a quick question for you people. How many of you guys either manage or are managed by Sterile Services/Decontamination/SDU/Disinfection Unit's?

I am aware that there is one hospital in London that has its Medical/Clinical engineering manage the Sterile Services/Decontamination/etc...

Thanks in advance

Not sure whether Alan means looking after the equipment ... or managing the (Sterile Services) department.

I have been asked to tentatively query about other department that manage the service day-to-day.

It's an idea that's being floated around at a few other trusts I'm told - Anybody here have any experience of it?

I am reliably informed that a trust in London actually manages - strategic/staffing/budget/etc - the sterile/disinfection service and Clinical/Medical Enineering together.

Again any help is appreciated as always

Scarborough Sterile Services and Medical Engineering are managed together. The manger is David Biggins (01723 368111 ext 5309)
