Hi All

we are getting fluid ingress behind the clear perspex alarm panel cover which after a short time turns brown making the unit look dirty and is impossible to clean.I have reported this to B-Braun but have no fix for the problem because apparently we are the only hospital which has this problem.I have now involved the MHRA so i would like to know if any other hospital uses this device and wether you get the same problem or not.

if you wish to talk please contact me on 01493 452468.

regards

Hi richard

we were haveing the same problem with the syringe driver it resulted in the replacement of the top cover's and when BBraun looked into the problem they made some chnges to the rubber seal on the cover. Problem has been resolved now and seems to be wroking well.

Hi Topper

can i e-mail you a photo of one of our tops and see if it is the same as what's happening to your stations. So far Braun have put blame on the units being dropped and now apparently we are not cleaning them properly. i first reported this problem to B-Braun approx 4 years ago and every time i enquired what was happening with the fix i was told it was being dealt with by germany and a fix will be in a few weeks!! that was 3 years ago hence i got fed up waiting and went to the MHRA. I am fed up with the b******t i get from Braun, as from April the CQC are looking a medical equipment and i don't think they will be too impressed with a unit with brown stains behind the perspex.

regards

richard

P.S we have a simular problem with the perspex on the syringe drivers once again the last contact from Braun was they were still looking for a fix.

Are you contacting B. Braun locally or internationally, if you are only going local I would suggest you go further up the chasin and then you will see some action.

Hi Topper and Coleman Sir,

Could you please post the pictures of the affected pumps here or share a link to the pics her??
I would like to look at the problems you are facing. The hospital I am working for is also facing a similar, if not same, problem. When I complained to my local B|Braun representative, I was told that it was a problem only in my locale and not occuring anywhere else.
This would provide proof that the issue is global and needs to be addressed on priority.

Thanks.

"you are the only hospital to have seen this issue"

" the cause is an external case impact"

oh, is that the B Braun company logo?

Maybe they should rebrand to BS Braun?

Your all wrong, because we are the only hospital to have this problem. With the Infusomat space and the syringe driver.

Sorry folks,
I transferred away from Brauns last year but my colleague Paul Latham (member of this site) still has to deal with them.
