Hi,

Does anyone know how to check an spirometer Microlab 3300? I have two calibrate syringes (1Lt and 3lt).

Best regards,

The manual says -

Quote:
To check the calibration of the MicroLab a large syringe should be used. This should have a 30mm outlet and be of at least three litres in capacity and preferably six litres. A 3 Litre Syringe is available from Micro Medical as Cat. No. SM2125. The MicroLab should be set up to record a FVC manoeuvre, connected to the syringe with the minimum of adapters. The syringe volume should be injected into the transducer evenly, without pausing.
If, after checking, the MicroLab appears to require re-calibration then please refer to your supplier for service.

Hope this helps

Lee

Hello

when you do check with the syringe should be borne in mind the following:

The measures taken have to be converted to BTPS conditions (Body Temperature and Pressure Saturated). This means that you can measure at least the room temperature and atmospheric pressure to calculate the BTPS factor.

Ever happened to me make calibrations without this conversion and then had the patient's values wrong.

You have here a link to calculate the BTPS factor http://www.medicine.mcgill.ca/physio/vlab/resp/BTPS.htm.

All the best
