There could be a gulf between the BEST transilluminator & what we actually used. For pre-term neonates the Venoscope is adequate & convenient according to our clinicians but bigger babies usually require something more powerful & for these it's a cold light source, fibre optic cable & an arm board for immobilisation. For a step up from the Venoscope the veinlite range looks interesting though I haven't seen them. RB Medical do a cold light source the GA422 with a light cable for neonates. But sure & remind them not to leave the light source attached to the baby - they will burn if left on long enough.
