We have a lot of Criticare equipment (506's, etc) that sit on top of a roll stand.

Over the years we have found that the 3 piece plastic PSU holder comes apart after a while, where is it glued together, and new ones cost £65ea.

We have contacted Dolby but they have told us that we are the only hospital ever to have raised the issue with them.

Has anyone else had this problem with their PSU brackets?

Yep when the bracket breaks we just put the Charger/PSU into the stand basket and fix it in place with cable ties! Which is a lot cheaper than £65 for a new bracket.

Nearly all the 506 PSU brackets at Furness General have broken. We drill holes through both main sections and clamp them using M3 screws with nyloc nuts. Nobody has succeeded in breaking one of these repaired brackets - yet!

If the height adjustment clamp is loose then the weight of the unit bends the bracket, and eventually the glue fails.

We've found several that the nursing staff have "repaired" with yellow (clinical waste) cable ties.

How strange that the local vendor hasn't heard about this, but there you go. Cable ties are indeed the most popular way of dealing with this well-known example of bad design. Inelegant, perhaps, but cheap.

Dolby have been very good about the issue and have replaced 12 of them. These have now been sent back to the manufacturer for investigation.
