IntelliVue XDS Application revision J.00.01 (Build 463) is now available for download from the XDS website: http://activate.healthcare.philips.com/

Rev J.00.01 is mostly a bug-fix update, but has one new feature: it is now possible to add ANY patient monitor screen to the XDS Remote display. Simply copy the .rds file from the IntelliVue Support Tool screen library (regardless of the SW revision or model of monitor that screen was intended for) and import it in to your XDS screen collection - you can now use that screen with XDS Remote Display connected to any patient monitor. If the screen has embedded applications that the monitor (or the software release and options on the monitor) does not support, that area will be grayed out.

Bug fixes:
a. Printer configuration will be retrieved properly after upgrade to XDS J.00.01.It is no longer necessary to reconfigure the printers manually as it was for J.00.00 (see Service Bulletin SB86201581A)
b. After upgrading, “Act as Server” selection is preserved.
c. Connection stability with the patient monitor and reconnection process to the monitor has been improved.
d. The initial Configuration Wizard properly retrieves the configuration for “iPC Single Screen” as documented in the XDS Application Installation and Configuration Guide. Manual activation of the Input Device Sharing is no longer required.
e. A warning is shown during installation, recommending installation of Windows 7 Service Pack 1. This warning is a reminder for the customer to keep his system up to date and does not impact the operation of XDS application. The installation continues normally after pressing OK.

IntelliVue XDS Application revision J.10.00 (Build 480) is now available for download from the XDS website: http://activate.healthcare.philips.com/

This is a feature release that adds functionality mainly related to network and topology, and one major enhancement requested by users.

a. XDS Remote Display application can now directly use screens stored on the monitor. In all previous XDS versions, the RemoteDisplay requires monitor screens to be stored into
the XDS configuration. After establishing the connection with a monitor, the XDS PC was sending the screen definition to the monitor. The monitor then returns the information to be
displayed in the XDS Remote Display.

In addition to that pre-existing functionality, XDS version J.10 can also directly use the screens stored in the Patient Monitor. The Monitor defines the screen content for the XDS Remote Display (2nd or 3rd display) and can also link the screen to a monitor profile.The screen shown in the XDS Remote Display (PC Window) will change automatically based on the profile selected at the Monitor. The user experience is then similar to the D80
as 2nd or 3rd display.

This feature only applies when the Default Monitor for a specific XDS Remote Display window is defined as the Home Monitor for the PC.

b.Home/Default Monitor can now be defined also based on the LLDP information (Switch Port Mapping).
The IntelliVue Patient Monitor Rev. J.10 can read port specific information from the switch where it is connected to using LLDP (Link Layer Discovery Protocol) and communicates this information to the XDS Directory Service. This allows XDS to operate in Switch Port Mapping (Fixed Mode) with or without the presence of an Information Center. This feature requires SW Rev J.10 on the IntelliVue Patient Monitor.

c. Printing in Routed Networks is now possible. With previous XDS versions, Printing Solution integrated in the XDS Application Suite was limited to local network (Single subnet). The Printing Queues were broadcasted to the monitors in the network segment. XDS J.10.00 also supports routed topologies. When a Monitor is recognized by the Directory Service as part of a different Subnet, the printing queues will be sent to that
monitor using unicast messages instead.

d. XDS now supports a new Network Topology: Directory Isolation.
It is now possible to configure two (or more) independent XDS directory services within one network. Please refer to Appendix K of the XDS J.10.xx Configuration Guide for details.

e. XDS J.10.00 also provides infrastructure and Remote Display services to IntelliVue Guardian Solution that enables centralized storage of Early Warning Scores and spot-check records performed on IntelliVue MP5/MP5SC spot-check monitors, and provides Deterioration Detection for general ward patients in between spot-check rounds. XDS J.10 provides directory services for IntelliVue Cableless Measurement pods and associated medical body area network translators (MBAN -> LAN and MBAN ->WLAN) used with IntelliVue Guardian Solution .
