Hi All,

Has anyone out there come across issues of rusting LTE Scientific warming cabinets (bench top size). We have noticed that the interior stainless steel walls (sheet steel) is rusting (badly), it has a particular pattern that looks similar to being 'pepper potted' with a shot gun? all units (10 so far) have a similar pattern, all are based at different locations across the UK, all store just sealed fluid products, saline mainly.

The company are being as helpful as companies tend to be, given the critisism of their products; and of course this is the first ever report of such a problem...



Company state they have not seen this before? based upon a picture I have sent (to busy to visit the site), checked with their steel suppliers

Are you sure it's rust (and not surface contamination of some kind)?

Has someone tried giving it a rub?

I will post a pic tomorrow.i have tried an acid based solution as recommended by the company, this revealed deep pitting. Has to be the steel, possibly a cheap import of some kind...

Where are these things actually made these days, I wonder.

Had a similar issue in another trust with this and the oem also claimed first time ever but if turned out a failure was in the metal and the coating or posting process and this caused a failure . Have you informed the Mhra and then tried calling them out to see as with the failure being as severe as you said this will only get worse and can be I've a contaminant later. Good luck and let me know how this progresses as I have found that 3 rd party companies are selling more and more with no traceability to failures such as this
