Great name! smile

Are you thinking of the FS-200, Brian?

They're available on eBay for US$ 100, including shipping from South Korea.

Not heard of it, though I would recommend the Welch Allyn/Braun Pro series. The last time I did a review of thermometers and did a change for the whole Trust that was free to the Trust and had the cheapest disposables on the NHS framework. They also did a good jonb of swapping out broken ones and even replaced ones that went "missing".

Its the FS-700 - i like the braun one - but the trust have purchased this infra red one. Its touchless so no consumable costs on top. It looks nice but too "portable" for my liking - just wondered if anyone else had them

Don't worry, Brian (knowing where you are) ... sooner or later the "portability" issue will solve any technical problems you may encounter, will it not?

I suppose we could call it the "law of diminishing returns". whistle

But didn't I see a post from you about RFID recently? How's that going, I wonder? whistle

Multiple threads pass through my troubled mind, Huw. whistle

But surely there is a valid connection between "portable" thermometers and RFID? think

OK ... I'll fish out the link -> [seconds later] here it is.

Yes, that's the one. It certainly looks very nice. smile

But I can't help wondering what came first - the company name, or the slogan! whistle

So how in a controlled enviroment are you going to Check the accuracy and calibrate them?
We have issues with a 'black box' temp controlled checker, as its not accurate and never will be, plus you cannot calibrate them........................

I have spoken to the importers of this device and they say that they dont need to be calibrated and come with a one years gaurantee and are on a years exchange policy - im not convinced about them - we have had a couple to return already
