In Europe we have to "Save the Whale", apparently (and, I must admit, they are few and far between around here).

But, to answer your question, Roger, I haven't noticed any measurable change in the lead content of my breakfast cereals. And, I should add, since the "ban" on mercury sphyg's, I haven't noticed much of a falling off in the number of "mad hatters" I see out on the street, either.

Today I thought id go to Costco to buy some Coffee and look at the cordless screwdriver thay had the last time I was there, alas sold out. (can anyone recomend a good cordless driver?)

However I just could not resist adding some more gadgets to my 'collection'.

We use an Erbauer model ERE012DDH, got it from Screwfix. Phone 0500 414141. 2 x 2.0Ah Ni-Cd 18v batteries supplied. Does the job for us. I used it this weekend to put up some shelving in my shed! Not quite sure of the price though.

If you are starting a collection have a look at the Ryobi range.
A couple of batteries for your set saves a lot of money over a couple of batteries per toy.
Has any one tried the Lithium ones yet?
From Screwfix and all good tool stores.
I have quite a few of the Ryobi range some of the tools such as the circular saw eat the batteries quickly but generally they are up to large DIY jobs.

I've been thinking about tools again (you know, the way you do), and have done a bit of research about Ryobi.

After all, the idea that a single battery pack and charger can be used in over thirty power tools sounds like a good one.

But it's interesting to note that (as far as power tools are concerned) it seems that (almost) all roads lead to Hong Kong!
