Hi
im on a mission to re locate from Bristol to further down into the southwest Hampshire area and ideally into another Nhs EBME dept, ive had only one lead so far with a private firm TBS .
Ive only heard from our sales reps that they run alot of private hospitals in that area and are expanding!

any views tips appreciated

When you say "lead" - do you mean "offer"?

If so, my advice would be "go for it"! smile

By the way, I doubt that they run any hospitals, but they do maintain medical equipment at various sites.

And what attracts you to another NHS department? Hopefully you would find working for a company far more interesting. You know, an opportunity to make the most of things, rather than "dead man's shoes" (or whatever).

Hi,

The Medical Room is a specialist recruitment company focussing on the medical engineering sector.

We have many contacts in the South West and though I can't guarantee that we will find you a position we'll at least be honest with you and give it a good try.

Drop us a line through our website www.themedicalroom.com

Regards

Mike

Welcome to the forum, Mike. smile

But what we are all wondering is - how come it's taken you so long (to join us)?

PS: I hope you're still thick skinned (and don't mind a bit of "banter")!

Parker,
I know TBS have contracts in Bournemouth and are expanding there. You cannot get much more south west Hampshire than there - or is it in dorset.
I keep getting companies contacting me about "oportunities there" but I am sticking with Mike G. He has done me well for the last year and a half and I would recommend him as an honest guy not just someone looking for commission.

Hey Peter,

I hope you are aware of SouthWest Pay Consortioum? If you are plaining to join NHS.

TBS is a good private company, pay you well. There is another company called Key Health Solutions if you wanna try? They are always in need of good engineers/technician.

Yes, Bournemouth is in Dorset. smile

Hampshire begins a couple of miles east of there, as you cross the Avon to enter the New Forest.

I would also endorse Mike. A good guy who has remained true to his calling, you might say.

@dianuj: believe it or not Junaid, some people are motivated by things other than just money.

Hi
thanks for all the helpful replys
Geoff in response to your question "why another Nhs department" apart from the decent pay and good holidays maybe the day to day relationship you build up with the clinical staff, hopefully thats still possible with going private. But i agree with you its dead mans shoes and there are better opportunitys out in the private sector .

Unfortunatley as Dianuj pointed out the Southwest Consortioum is looming round these parts so the times are a changing
