I have recently aquired some Nellcor SPO2 modules for our Intellivue MP50 monitors however, the modules will only work on our newest monitor as it has a later software version. I requested a quote from the OEM to upgrade the software and they are suggesting that the main board needs to be replaced which is quite expensive. Does anyone know if this is indeed the case or if there is a way around this.

Thanks
Craig.

They did not distribute the old version of SPO2 module anymore?...as per my experience, you need to request an old version too for your old monitor...

Hi Craig,

The MP50 had 2 hardware generations. Monitors with first generation main board can be upgraded to SW rev G.0.

The monitors shipping from around mid 2007 have had the second generation main board, with increased flash memory. These can be upgraded to the current SW rev, which is J.1.

The SpO2 module with Covidien Nellcor OxiMax technology is backward compatible with IntelliVue SW rev C.0.

This means, you should be able to upgrade you existing MP50s to rev G.0 (without a mainboard upgrade) and then they should be able to accept the SpO2 module with Covidien Nellcor OxiMax technology.

Please consult your Philips Field Service Engineers and they should be able to advise you on the next steps.
