Hoepfully a quickie - anyone know of an UK manufacturer of a mobile stand with basket & vertical pole for mounting lightweight devices - not a drip stand but something on those lines. You see lots of them in use but they're usually supplied by the OEM - GE, F&P, Philips(GCX), Welch-Allyn etc

Good list Geoff but only one made in UK & although the manufacturer makes stands & baskets they won't supply a stand with a basket. Yeah, there are lots of manufacturers from abroad but I have a new kick - reducing airmiles on goods bought & protecting the security of the supply chain - we've had major interruptions due to tsunamis, hurricanes, other natural disasters & regional conflicts.

I applaud the sentiment Paul, but (sadly) if you were to apply that criteria across the board you wouldn't have a lot of new kit in a British hospital these days, would you?

A few more thoughts occur:-

1) You could get a "company" to import the stuff for you (especially if you're after a "reasonable quantity")
2) Second-hand equipment is always available
3) If all else fails - there's always eBay!

Let us know how you get on in your quest! smile

How about something like the Papworth Pole? think

I don't know about you, but I just love simple solutions like that.

Who knows, you could adapt it, or develop it further to suit your needs ... and call it the Bristol Pole! smile
