Yes. The sad truth is that modern equipment is generally less forgiving than old kit when it comes to indifferent mains power supplies.

Those guys would be well advised to get to grips (as much as possible) with the power surges, black-outs, brown-outs and interruptions in general.

Failing that, the use of battery-backed equipment and (or) UPS is most likely the way forward.

They may be able to fix these units now ... but what about the next time? think

Why not try to replace the whole power board,(and troubleshoot the original later).
as i read, the fuse is burned,so something short in the circuit causing the fuse to be burned..
isolate the power board,replace the short/leaky/open components.after replacing the bad components,connect a serries 50 watts bulb to the fuse and connect it to power source..if the bulb light thier is still short components in the circuit..if the bulb did not light then the power board is now good for voltage checking..

...then follow this step :-)
