Hi all from across the pond. All of our OR's are outfitted with Stryker Equipment, cameras, lightsources, literally everything on boom arms is Stryker. The problem with Stryker Canada is they will no sell any service parts to us besides telling us to send entire units in for repair. I understand that Stryker does quite a bit of business in the UK and I'm wondering if you are able to buy service parts directly from Stryker there or a third party ? If there's any third party company that anyone can suggest it would be greatly appreciated. They seem to have a locked down market here in North America.
regards Peter

Hi Pete, 'though I can't speak for the UK we have the same issue here here in Australia, no parts just service exchange units. Looks like it may be a global policy Dave
Thoughts and information provided on this forum are mine and mine alone and do not necessarily reflect the policy of NSW Health. They may also be complete bollocks!!

we're doing business with partssource here in Quebec, Canada. I have already order parts for sternum saw and the parts was cheaper than stryker. http://www.partssource.com/you can send Picture with the description and they do the research for you. They have new, used and refurbished parts. My contact is Derek Thompson ( dthompson@partssource.com )

That looks like a useful service ... has anyone else had any joy with it? What do they do ... send a quote by email? How do they deal with trivia requests, I wonder (just ignore them, I suppose)? I can imagine some folk simply requesting pages of quotes (when bidding for contracts, for example).
If you don't inspect ... don't expect.

We have used Part Source for many things but when it came to duty and brokerage fees when it came across the border it was so expensive. What you initially save we were getting slaughtered with the brokerage fees. We would order things from other places in the states and would never get hit with such heavy fees, it was only in dealing with them.

Brokerage fees? What happened to NAFTA? How far is it from Aurora to Hamilton? Maybe you need a friendly van driver ... or two, one on each side (of the border) ... to meet in the middle ( ie, at the border)! Would something like that work? Who benefits from such fees, by the way? The government(s)?

They have access to many supplier and they have special price. For example last week I order a batteries for GE mac 5500. Ge sell it 412$ Partssource bought it from rdbatteries and sold it for 115$ On the RDbatteries web sites the price 180$.
